Brecon - Dering Lines, Brynmawr & Sennybridge

Brecon is located on the A40 between Abergavenny and Llandovery.

160 (Wales) Brigade's HQ is at Brecon.  Dating back to 1908, the Brigade has a proud history at the centre of Army activity in Wales for nearly a century. Within 160 (Wales) Brigade area are some of the Army's top training sites, including the Infantry Battle School at Brecon and Sennybridge Training Area.

The Infantry Battle School (IBS) in Brecon is part of the School of Infantry. It delivers trained Officers and soldiers to meet the operational requirements of the Infantry, the Army and Defence. The SDW is an adventure training establishment at Sennybridge.

Dering Lines has a fully equipped gym, squash courts, Army Learning Centre, hairdressers and Spar shop, with an additional shop that sells military kit, the RV-3 Shop. There is also a nursery and a community centre.

Crickhowell is a small well-served town sitting on the A40 between Brecon and Abergavenny. The military presence now centres around the families estate and just a few minor training units on Cwrt-y-Gollen camp.

Abergavenny is a historic Market town. Supermarkets and town centre shopping is available. A thriving market takes place on Tuesday's and Saturday's and is well worth a visit.
